Theme Story

It starts in the group text. Somebody asks what time, somebody else asks if they should bring anything, and three people offer mashed potatoes at once. By Sunday the thread is 140 messages long and your aunt still wants the address again. Thanksgiving is the easiest party to love and the hardest one to organize.

The dinner table used to be exactly that: a board. In old English houses it was a long plank laid across trestles, pulled out when there was a crowd to feed and put away after. That's why we still say "room and board", and why a host would "set the board" for guests. The idea has outlasted the furniture. A table isn't really wood. It's a promise that there's space for one more.

The Long Table digital Thanksgiving invitation is built on that promise. When your guests open it, a single line draws a long table across a warm cream page. Chairs appear around it, then plates, then a pie in the middle, until every place is set. A few leaves in rust, gold and olive drift past without fuss. Underneath, one quiet line: there's a seat with your name on it. The rest reads like a menu card at a restaurant you'd actually like. A big rust-coloured date. The day in soft italic. Where to come, what's on the table, and a gentle note about bringing a side. No clip-art turkeys, no pilgrim hats. Just good type and plenty of space.
